Deep Listening Workshop

Composer Pauline Oliveros has made a life's practice out of listening to everything it is possible to hear at all times, naming this ‘Deep Listening.’ Central to this practice is the idea that, although we ‘hear’ sound all the time, we rarely ‘listen’ to it in a meaningful way. Methods for Deep Listening, and for improvisation, will be expressed experientially — and as whimsically as Oliveros herself would teach them! — by composer/improvisor Anne Bourne, who has been certified by Oliveros to teach her material.
