In collaboration with True North Waterloo, THEMUSEUM and Quartetfest, prepare for an incredible evening of technology, sound and electronics. THEMUSEUM open it's doors at 7pm for an exclusive preview of the new exhibits and sound installations. At 8pm Open Ears presents "Hard Wired". Featuring two of Canada's hottest contemporary ensembles, Penderecki String Quartet and TorQ Percussion Quartet, in a evening packed with 50 different musical instruments and electronics on stage. Repertoire will feature the Canadian premiere of Augusta Read-Thomas' Selene, Mason Bates' Bagatelles, Daniel Morphy's Thrown from a Loop, and the world premiere of Nicole Lizee's brand new octet. The music bridges classical contemporary with electronica dj/club culture in a dizzying array of percussion and strings.
